Really disappointed with my experience as a candidate. I applied on LinkedIn with my CV, I was emailed the next day with an invitation to a phone interview (with no details other than 'Tuesday/Wednesday') and a request to answer 3 questions and complete a task. I did as requested, sending across a 4 page document I had spent my Sunday afternoon completing. Tuesday came and I hadn't received anything back about the interview so I emailed asking when it would be - no reply. I emailed again the following Monday - almost a full week after I was told the interview would take place - still no reply. I added the person I was speaking to and the 2 co founders on LinkedIn and messaged them to ask what was happening - no reply. The next day I went on the live chat option on their website - finally a response! The employee on the chat was the only person to respond from the entire company and was genuinely helpful in passing on a message to the hiring manager (they don't seem to have a recruiter or in house hr manager which explains the poor communication but not an excuse to ignore candidates). A few minutes after the live chat I get a message from the hiring manager explaining that their HR system wasn't notifying them of my emails so they had only just seen them.. over a week later. They said they would review my answers and get back to me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and accepted their excuse. This was 4 days ago and I haven't heard anything, don't know why I bothered to waste time writing out answers and completing a task about their Q4 strategy. Maybe they are just looking for free labour and not actually wanting to hire anyone, seems like a dodgy place with unresponsive, disorganised employees. A lack of respect for candidates and not even bothering to respond to people who have given their time to complete tasks for you is not a good look.
