I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Busuu (London, England) in Nov 2015
Interview
I was invited in by the Education team manager, showed around the office and then interviewed in a meeting room. I was offered a soft drink or coffee, too. All seemed very friendly and inviting.
The dress code is casual-smart, but everybody seems to be themselves. No stiff office vibes.
The interview itself was casual but also really required skills, that I had to prove I had.
The managers were just as interested in my personality though.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How I would plan content for the app. This could be prepared beforehand, though.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Busuu in Mar 2020
Interview
Interview consists of a 30 minutes talk and 1-2 hours written test. The talk is pleasant and the test is interesting and not very difficult. After that, you would either get an offer or (in my case) get an automated impersonal message if you don't pass. It would leave more positive impresion to personally contact interviewee with an honest explanation instead of claiming that the number of applications with more experience and skill was too high (for a highly specialized and unusual field it seems dishonest). Honest feedback would be helpful and constructive, even if very concise.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Written test consist of lots of questions which require specialist knowledge. It is not difficult to complete if you've been in the field for a while. For example, how to teach a certain unit of language. What grammar and vocabulary should be taught to beginners. Analyze existing lesson and suggest improvements. Most challenging part is designing interface for the app (how to cover a certain unit), and submitting your drawn solutions within the limited time. If you've never done this before, or if you don't have some graphic editing software at hand, this might surprise you. However, there is no feedback given on your effort.

Interview
The interview process was very fast at the beginning. I sent my application and 5 hours later I had the first skype interview scheduled. During the skype interview, I had the chance to talk to the HR and the head of the department who gave me all the basic info about the company that I needed. We then scheduled a test session which was absolutely messy. The document I had to work on was full of mistakes and the document was being changed while I was typing. After this messy test session I just didn't get any answer or feedback.
