I had a phone screening interview for a Senior Technical Product Manager role at Braze. The questions were relevant but felt misaligned with the format. For example, "Tell us about a 0-to-1 product you launched" is too broad for a 30-minute phone call, especially without time to walk through strategy, technical depth, and outcomes. Another question was around how I collaborate with engineers on system architecture. Again, a relevant topic, but in this format, it felt too open-ended and difficult to convey clearly without a shared whiteboard or technical diagrams. Overall, the interview format didn’t provide the space for a meaningful two-way conversation. For a senior-level role, the format felt rushed and made it hard to showcase relevant experience.
