      Email Deliverability Consultant Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Braze (Austin, TX) in Oct 2025

      Interview

The entire process felt misleading and confusing from start to finish. Every round seemed focused on quickly moving me forward rather than genuinely assessing my experience for the role. The interviewers never engaged with my CV or professional background; instead, they asked surface level questions that did nothing to evaluate actual skills or fit. Even more frustrating, they couldn't answer my most basic questions about the role, the team structure, or what was actually needed from this position. Every response was vague or inconsistent, and at one point, someone even said, "We need new ideas," which made it clear they were seeking insights rather than seriously recruiting. It felt like the entire process was designed to collect data and ideas instead of leading to a genuine hiring decision. What made this even more disappointing was the stark contrast between the experience and Braze's stated values of "Be a Human" and "Embrace Curiosity." There was very little curiosity, empathy, or authentic engagement at any stage. Instead of feeling seen or valued as a professional, I felt like a formality, someone to extract ideas from rather than a potential team member. After the experience, I noticed other reviews on Glassdoor describing nearly identical situations; rushed interviews, unclear expectations, and a sense that candidates were being used for ideas rather than assessed for real roles. That kind of consistency across multiple reviews speaks volumes. The vague communication, a lack of genuine curiosity, and dismissive attitudes toward basic questions, it became clear that this process did not align with the culture Braze promotes publicly. Don't be fooled by the company's branding or culture language, the recruitment experience didn't reflect it at all. Expect a process that feels more like unpaid market research than authentic hiring. Protect your time, and don't assume a multi-stage process means they're genuinely invested in you. To top it off, no feedback was provided afterward.
