I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Booking.com (Amsterdam) in Mar 2017
Interview
I was referred by a current employee of Booking.com for the graduate software developer post. At first there was a recruiter's interview via skype who mainly talked to check my motivation to join the company and described briefly about the role and interview process. Next step was an 75 minute online coding test in hackerrank. The test required basic programming, algorithms and data structures. I found the test pretty easier. About two weeks later I passed the hackerrank test, there was a technical phone interview. The phone interview was also a coding interview focusing on data structures and algorithms. I was given two problems to solve in 45 minutes. I coded the solutions, described it and analyzed the runtime complexities of my solutions. Two days later, the recruiter called me to notify that I passed the phone interview and he invited me for the face to face interview in Amsterdam. The interview was scheduled two months later. But my visa Schengen visa application was rejected. Hence, the recruiter told me that the face-to-face interview will be taken via bluejeans.com .
There were total three face-to-face interviews. The first one was a coding interview, the second was on system design and the third one was on commercial awareness interview. I made a terrible mistake in the coding interview due to some wrong assumptions. The system design interview was not too good though as I could not ask proper clarifying questions and hence could not provide a good answer to the problem. In the third interview, I was the interviewer mainly asked my about my entire experience, projects. He also asked me some idea which could be implemented to commercialize one of my projects. We also discussed about the culture in Booking.com and Amsterdam. A week after the interview, I got a call from my recruiter who told me that they were not going to hire me at that time. He mainly told that I assumed many things during the interview which were needed to be clarified, specially in the system design one. He told me that I can re-apply after 6 months and wished me luck.

I applied online. I interviewed at Booking.com (Amsterdam) in Jan 2026
Interview
Got an online assessment, aced it perfectly, but still got a generic rejection letter. I have no idea why they sent me the OA if they are just in the plan to reject me however I did the OA.
First a very easy coding test, After passing the coding test, a personality test is conducted, and then an HR call is made. I got rejected after an HR call.
