I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Mar 2014
Interview
The interview process was a phone interview followed by a super day. Both were pretty straightforward. Definitely expect the critical thinking questions that have nothing to do with finance per say but are more about observing your thought process. Also expect finance related questions however. The interviewers were very friendly and were not trying to spring "gotcha" questions on me. They really seemed more genuinely interested in just determining current skill level and aptitude.
HireVue then 3 part superday. All interviews were a mix of technical and behavioral but mostly behavioral and market-based. Interviews were over a 4 hour period and with employees from different offices
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your internship experience and why it sets you up for this role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
