      Product Manager Interview

      18 Nov 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer

      Application

      I interviewed at BlackRock

      Interview

I applied to the position online. About seven weeks later I was contacted for a telephone screen with the hiring manager. The next day, I heard back from HR for in-person interview in New York city. According to the initial schedule communicated by HR, I was scheduled to meet with three people. The actual interview, however, I met with five people. The people seemed to be very nice at the interview, but based on the overall experience I am not at all impressed with BlackRock. My thoughts are that it is perfectly fine for this or any other company to reject candidates which we as candidates understand as a normal part of the process. BUT, the thing is that if the candidate has incurred his/her travel expenses, spent time, gone through the effort, then it is only fair for BlackRock or any other company to communicate the rejection in person (preferably) or email. It is absolutely unprofessional and rude of BlackRock or any other company to not provide any communication.

I interviewed at BlackRock in Apr 2026

      Interview

the talent person that was looking after the hire was supposed to call me before the first round and reached out saying she was going to call me after the interview. This was done in loop for every step until she totally ghosted me and sent an automated rejection. Only when confronting her she shared the feedback saying they have finished the first round just now, while the automation email stated they filled the position. I don't think the company wants to deliver this type of candidate experience I strictly believe these people want to get some sort of revenge out of dating experiences. I won't apply again to roles she looks after and suggest you to have at least a second email to contact while being in the process.
