I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Better (Oakland, CA)
Interview
Interview consisted of an initial phone screen with a recruiter, a set of take home exercises, and a virtual on-site with 3 team members.
Phone screen was standard.
Take home exercises were half standard and half pointless. The first half consisted of a mock email write up and the second half consisted of some pointless pattern recognition exercise to question an applicants intelligence and basic competence that was honestly insulting to be asked to complete.
The on-site was quite unprofessional. I met with 3 team members including 2 currents LCAs and an internal recruiter. They did not look at my application or resume prior to joining the call, so I had to reiterate points with every single person I met with that could have been addressed by simply doing research before the call. No manager was ever present so I was unable to ask the questions I actually wanted answered. You’d think that the hiring manager would want to interview his potential future employees.
The interview went quite well, but it looks like better is looking to hire new college grads with little to no experience as opposed to veteran salespeople such as myself with years of experience.
Good thing I’m still employed because I would have turned the offer down.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Better
Interview
The interview process was great. Every interviewer was kind and made the whole process feel like I was just talking to a friend. It allowed me to be myself and I got the job.
