I was contacted by a recruiter to setup a 15 minute initial screening after applying online. Instead of the usual phone call, the recruiter wanted to setup a video interview. She asked a couple general questions about my background, but her body language and demeanor seemed to indicate a lack of interest minutes into the interview. To be fair, I was overqualified for the position and lowered my standards to apply for an entry level position. After searching on Linkedin, they seemed to offer the role to someone with zero experience, which made sense. Months later, the same position that i'm currently in at my current job opened up at Base. Applied and never heard back. Complete waste of time and not sure why the initial screening needed to be a video interview instead of a simple phone call.
