Interview questions [1]
Question 1
typical competency questions
asked about the business (e.g. what are the main competitors)?
Asked about Barclays Wealth & Investment management - which products do they offer to their clients?
With the Private Bankers you have the opportunity to talk about the markets which is always a bit more fun (e.g. which companies would you invest in at this moment in time? What do you think will happen to oil prices In the future?)
Quite swift. initial call then tests which were pretty basic, then critical skills interview with hr base on their 6 critical skills (risk, collboration, tech etc.) Reasons for not getting it was that examples of times i showed 1 of the critical skills was not good enough. harsh in my opinion not really relevant.

Question 1
tell us about a time you faced a risk and what control principals did you take
Mainly competency based. A panel interview with two other executives. Quite formal with questions relating to what I know about Barclays Private Banking division (locations, client worth, role responsibilities, etc'.), how I manage competing priorities, collaborate with others and work autonomously.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Barclays (London, England)
Interview
Quite difficult interview questions given not only competency, but also Values are tested. The interview process is quite lengthy and takes few weeks in total. Depending on the team, minimum 2 rounds, can be several rounds meeting team members, managers and bankers.
