I applied through university. I interviewed at Bain & Company
Interview
Applied through on-campus recruiting, was selected for an interview after being dinged after the second-round last year. This time I reapplied and it was a back-to-back interview - standard format.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Two standard cases. Neither required math, both utilized charts. First case did not allow time for a framework, interviewer wanted to dive right into conversation.
I was asked if, given my nonprofit background, I would be comfortable moving to the for-profit world. I don't understand why I am continually asked this question as an MBA at a top 10 school.
I applied online and got a online assessment after ~1 week. I completed the online test but I haven't heard back since then. The timeline is a bit uncertain to me.
First round case interviews. Got standard questions about profitability and market entry. IMO the most difficult part was reading complex charts and distilling the key insights with time pressure. There was little behavioral.
The interview was overall efficiently run and very professional. It had 2 stages; a case interview typical of management consuting interviews and a fit interview to assess cultural fit with the firm.
