The interview process was intended to be 4-5 conversations, each 30-60 minutes. I participated in 3 of those interviews.
The final interview I participated in was supposed to be a conversation on sales and leadership principles. I was given prep materials on AWS leadership philosophies and told to be prepared to discuss my history. The actual interview was a heavy hands-on technical screening for a role in a different department, levels below where I was interviewing. The interviewers were also 10 minutes late owing to issues with the invite not being correct.
I contacted the people who referred me into the company and they reported back that there was no mistake, I was intentionally sent the wrong prep and grilled on things I had already been open about not knowing.
