I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Ascendant Marketing (Pittsburgh, PA) in Apr 2019
Interview
I had to wait in the lobby for 10 min after my scheduled start time for the interviewer to arrive. Once the interview started, the interviewer was very cold and impersonal. This interview only took about 10-15 min and consisted of her reading questions off of a sheet of paper and writing my answers down while making little eye contact. Interviewer did not seem to even be listening carefully or even very interested in any of my answers. She refused to give me more information about this job or even tell me the job title as "they only reveal that information in the second round of interviews. " I felt this interviewer and company were disrespectful of candidates' time as this very simple interview asking basic questions about information found on my resume was equivalent to an initial phone screen and could have easily been done over the phone to save time and travel costs. They knew I lived two hours away and worked a full time job, but still insisted I come in person to this first round interview where they wouldn't even tell me what the job was. I was called back and invited for a second interview later that day and asked to come back two days later for it, but I politely declined and removed myself from consideration for this job since I did not want to take more time off work to travel back to Pittsburgh to interview with a company that clearly has no consideration for people's time and they could have just done a phone screen in place of the first round interview and then taken the time they needed to be a more thorough second round interview. I also researched this company on Glassdoor and online and learned they run a MLM scheme which I did not want to be a part of.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I don't remember the questions any more, but they were very basic things such as "tell me about your experience." I believe they also asked about certain skills like communication etc. None of the questions were hard to answer and were mostly about basic info found in my resume and cover letter.
