I recently completed an interview process for a Data Center Operations role with Amazon, and overall it was a very valuable and positive experience.
The interview process was professional, well organized, and focused on both technical knowledge and behavioral leadership principles. I had the opportunity to discuss my experience supporting hyperscale environments across Microsoft, Google, and Meta-related projects through E2 Optics and Akkodis.
The technical discussions covered troubleshooting, hardware deployments, rack-and-stack operations, networking fundamentals, fiber optics, and data center operations. I felt confident discussing real-world scenarios from my experience in production environments.
The behavioral portion challenged me to think deeply about leadership, ownership, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure. The interviewers asked detailed follow-up questions, which showed they were engaged and interested in understanding my approach and experience.
Overall, it was a great learning experience that helped me better understand Amazon’s operational culture and leadership expectations. Regardless of the final outcome, I’m proud of the experience and grateful for the opportunity to interview with such experienced professionals.
