I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Alcon (Fort Worth, TX) in Mar 2018
Interview
The interview process was very professional and smooth. My first interview was a virtual interview with an HR Partner and the Global Head for MS&T. I was contacted within a week for a follow up interview. Alcon was very flexible regarding my availability at the time to visit their HQ facilities. They arranged for transportation and accommodations. The second interview consisted of interviews with four different leaders of the company and included a tour of the facilities and lunch. The entire process took about 6 hours. I was very pleased with their treatment , professionalism, and their very palpable commitment towards the company's mission.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions were regarding my background (different industry) and behavioral questions.
I applied through university. I interviewed at Alcon
Interview
First started with a standard phone screening, which led to an invitation for an on-site tour.
Unfortunately, the guide seemed pretty mean and rude throughout the entire walkthrough of the manufacturing site.
Continuing after the tour, I was ushered into two more interviews with other engineers and engineering managers.
Keying in on leadership, they asked a lot of questions about how you would convince people to do your work.
Yet, during my time there, it appeared that they have a serious workplace culture crisis.
Outright, they are not agile at all, and any open ideas from the team are treated as highly doubtful.
Unfortunately, I was ghosted right after this extensive process, leaving me with a very clear picture of their operation.
Typical questions. Ask you about GMP etc. Also ask you about your pass experience and working style . Interview was rather easy and reply very fast . questions ask is not that difficult
I applied online. I interviewed at Alcon in May 2024
Interview
2 rounds of interview - 1 online and 1 face-to-face. Overall experience was good as they were easy to converse with. The interview was more about getting to know the interviewee as a person, to see if this person's values and behaviour aligns with their teams'.
