Screening interview and then a panel interview with 2 members of the team, including the team lead. Mostly behavioral and conversational with some specific questions to test policy knowledge. Very nice and casual. They were very smart and gave a decent amount of time to ask them questions too.
I applied online. I interviewed at Advanced Energy United in Feb 2025
Interview
I recently went through the interview process with Advanced Energy United for their Policy Principal role, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to a lack of professionalism in communication.
The process consisted of four interviews. The first was with the recruiter, followed by a conversation with the hiring manager. I then spoke with a member of the hiring panel, and lastly, I had a final interview with another Policy Principal and the Managing Director. Each interview seemed to go well, and I was given specific timelines by the recruiter on two separate occasions regarding when I would receive feedback.
Despite these assurances, I ultimately heard nothing back after my final interview. The complete lack of follow-up, especially after multiple rounds of interviews, was highly unprofessional. Candidates invest significant time and effort in these processes, and the least a company can do is provide timely communication, even if the outcome is unfavorable.
This experience left me with a negative impression of the organization’s hiring process and professionalism. I hope they improve their candidate communication in the future
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Advanced Energy United in Nov 2024
Interview
I sent an application three weeks before they scheduled an interview. The interviewer was borderline rude. After reiterating two questions from the application that I answered again, I physically heard them lose interest. I have never had someone reject me over the phone and tell me how better qualified the other candidates were just because they had experience in the industry. It was elitist, condescending, and disrespectful. Please don't do this. I cannot tell you how damaging this can be to applicants.
