Interview questions [1]
Question 1
if you face some tough situation - like budget concern, what do you plan to do in order to follow up the project?
Simple Interview. mostly behavioral questions with few technical questions with the manager. The process was smooth and setup with the recruiter. The interview happened a year ago sop the process might have changed.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ASML (Veldhoven) in Oct 2024
Interview
HR screening - asked about generic reasons for applying and other application questions.
Interview with team leaders (online) - detailed 1 hr interview on motivation as well as technical questions about physics of overlay. Job responsibilities and motivation.
3 back-to-back interviews (onsite):
First one with two senior engineers (1hr) in the team. I was given a homework question about overlay. Statistical analysis. It was discussed first. Then followed by very detailed technical questions on overlay tests. I was asked to identify the reason for a test protocol that was provided to me during the meeting. Followed by lot more questions on errors and measurements involved in overlay.
Second interview (30mins) was with the team lead on TE questionnaire that I was asked to fill prior. This was conversational about my personality.
Third interview (1hr) was with the team architect and scrum master. Here they asked me about scenarios which can arise at work and how I would deal with conflicts of interests at work. What was the problem that I dealt with during my PhD. More questions on what kind of workplace suits me the best.
The onsite interview was very intense and being under observation in the same room for 2h30m was quite intimidating. I was told there were 6 candidates being interview for 2 vacancies. It was extremely competitive.

Interview
I applied online through a referral portal. About two weeks after I got a phone call from HR. The phone call was just to confirm that I was interested in the position and to inform me of the upcoming steps. The second interview was a video call with hiring managers about 2 weeks later.
