The KEY to all of these, there exhibit ZERO follow-up. Don't take it as being rude. They want to see that YOU have the follow-up and closing skills to obtain the job, and use these skills to obtain business for them. When you're at the job, business owners are busy and generally don't call you back. You must set the pace of the sale with their consent, and move it forward.
Important notes; at the conclusion of each interview step, ask if you've answered their questions to their satisfaction, ask if the examples and stories you've shared overcame the obstacles they laid out for you, and if its a "yes", then ask for their support moving forward, and ask what the next step is. Make sure to tell them you're excited to work with them and take diligent notes.
