What is the hiring process like at Tripadvisor?

Tripadvisor does not value its employees

      Pros

Tripadvisor offers a good starting salary. They also offer the option to work remotely.

      Cons

Despite the fact that Tripadvisor offers a good starting salary, their annual salary increases are meager. However, my biggest concern with Tripadvisor is their clear and repeated demonstration of how they do not value a majority of their employees. In large department meetings, management always recognizes the same handful of individuals and leaves everyone else in the dust. They fail to acknowledge (or possibly don't care about) contributions that other members on the team make. I've had multiple discussions with management expressing a strong desire to take on additional responsibilities and advance, but the answer is always "no". Rather than allowing their employees to grow to where they can promote from within, they hold their employees down and hire new people to take advanced positions instead. As unfortunate as it is, I see no future for myself with Tripadvisor.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5.0 — Exceptional Recruiting Experience with Tripadvisor

      Pros

From the very first interaction, my experience with the Tripadvisor recruiting team especially Erin Kelly was absolutely outstanding. She was professional, transparent, and genuinely cared about making the process smooth and enjoyable. Communication was consistent and clear at every step, from the initial outreach to interview prep and follow-up. What stood out most was how personal the experience felt; she took the time to understand my background, goals, and motivations instead of treating it like just another application. Her level of empathy and attention to detail truly reflected Tripadvisor’s culture, approachable, thoughtful, and people-first. Even small things, like checking in before and after interviews or providing insight into the team dynamics, made a huge difference. It’s rare to come across a recruiter who balances professionalism with authenticity so effortlessly. This experience left me with a very positive impression of Tripadvisor as an organization and its hiring standards. If this is the kind of recruiter representing Tripadvisor, it speaks volumes about the company’s values!

      Cons

Tripadvisor has an unmatched amount of content and traveler data, one challenge is transforming that information into even more personalized trip planning. That’s where I see a lot of potential for continued growth.
