Pros
You work with smart, hard-working people. A lot of the lower and middle class-level employees are genuinely great, driven people.
Cons
Senior management is not supportive. Very little regard or recognition for high performance, but there is very high scrutiny for any mistakes.
Unclear promotion guidelines.
The work-life balance and work culture are terrible. Expect little to no flexibility, and expect to work a minimum of 10 hours everyday of the week. Potentially several more per day depending on the team and time of year.
The culture at times can also feel very full of itself - which is off putting at times.
Overall, working here is not that great. It’s just a big financial firm at the end of the day. There are several other firms where you can still have a fulfilling career with better pay, culture, and work/life balance while still working with smart people.
