      Why do AT&T employees quit?

      AT&T reviews

      Could be better

      B2b sales representative
      Current employee

      Business outlook

      Pros

Great intense program. Will get thrown into the fire which will ultimately help you determine if it’s for you or not

      Cons

People being fired in a training program was insane. Also lack of support at times from certain managers

      Pros

Generous time off, Benefits are good (but expensive). Paid caregiver leave. Compensation is reviewed and adjusted against the "market"/competition. Bonus-eligible employees receive the same percentage of the target payout (role specific) based on how the company is doing as a whole. If the company does well financially, the employees receive more bonus payout, and vice-versa. Good lateral or upward mobility (depending on the department). Tuition reimbursement. If attending college, company provides tuition reimbursement and is partnered with a company to help find online degree programs with discounts and will even match your college credit hours with the degree programs at various colleges/universities so that no hours are wasted. Overall company is moving in the right direction since they got rid of the TV service and got "back to the basics" of providing wireless & wireline services. Company embraces non-profits and there is paid volunteer hours, as well as company matching for certain programs.

      Cons

5 days in-office required for most roles with a minimum 40-hour work week. Time/presence reporting is monitored via LAN/Wifi, by video, as well as badge-swiping to ensure compliance with this standard, AI is currently being reviewed for implementation to replace un-needed resources (as with most employers) and reduce company costs. Employees who are laid off are given a severance package (depending on their role) based on the amount of time spent at the company. Company is centralizing all operations from 2 hub locations (ATL & Dallas), whereas most other locations are given relocation mandates to one of those two hub locations.

      Senior ssoftware engineer
      Current employee
      Atlanta, GA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Getting paid every month is a pro

      Cons

AT&T scamming employees right now. They are using RTO to create such a bad environment to work in that people will quit. Doing so, AT&T doesn't have to pay severance or unemployment. This is a legal gray area and AT&T is taking advantage of it. They are lying to employees when they say that this is to improve collaboration. They want people to quit because AT&T needs to recover loses from previous bad investments. Many employees are sticking through it right now because they either want their pension or severance. If not enough people quit, there will be layoffs.

Not a good firm for remote or even hybrid workers

      Pros

Good pay, benefits, roth 401k, good teammates

      Cons

Horrible RTO. Zero chill on being connected in the office for less than 8 hours. Caught up to NVW (virtual workers) to convert them to NFTO (full-time office) employees. Even exceptions like the ones outside the hub locations and too far to commute are given a 30-day notice to relocate or be terminated.

      1876 Zero Job Security

      Anonymous contractor
      Current contractor

      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

In general, people don't breathe down your neck and you can WFH.

      Cons

1876 is a fairly new internal creative agency AT&T is trying to establish with the worst parts of large-company bureaucracy, with the worst parts of a start-up structure. Expectations are very high, volatile, and everchanging. Leadership is quick to throw people under the bus as they can't seem to keep their footing on whatever process they are trying to roll out. Since 99% of employees are contract, any tiny mistake can (and will) get you fired. Leadership has actually admitted they like using only contractors as they are easier to get rid of, and that's created a very tense work environment. It is joked among employees; 'who survived the night/weekend' as it's weekly, if not daily, there's a message of 'XX is no longer part of 1876, we thank them for their service and with them luck in their future'

      Cons

No work life balance NLRB Violations Retaliation Discrimination against those with disabilities Micromanage Company culture is toxic They do not care about you Hugh pressure sales managment will try to force you to sell to people you wouldnt be comfortable pushing expensive products on. Managment will ask you to falsify documents. No room for growth Cameras in car Unrealistic goals built around prior fraudulent employees who got fired Managment will push you to do things the ceo says not to, in order to hit there numbers.

Senior leadership out of touch with employees. Required unpaid relocation to another city to retain job. Severance was provided when I chose not to relocate.
