At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

At Jacobs, we push the limits of what’s possible to make the world smarter, more connected and more sustainable. In our transport work, that means designing innovative solutions to move people and goods safely and efficiently across the globe. From rail systems mobilising accessible transit, to ports linking land and sea – when it comes to connecting the people and places of tomorrow, the future of transport depends on us.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Bridge Engineer to join our Wellington Transport Structures team in 2027. Your primary focus area will be in Structural Engineering, where you'll support the delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects. You'll work alongside our Senior Engineers on complex structural design tasks using various design packages, attend and participate in team, project and client meetings, contribute to marketing opportunities through your input to proposals and tenders, maintain and build on existing internal and external client relationships. You'll also assist as required in field works, preparing safety management documentation, report writing and other tasks required within the transport structure group of Jacobs – we’ll mentor you each step of the way to ensure you’re set up for success.

Here's what you'll need

Ideally, by January 2027 you'll hold a university degree in Civil / Structural Engineering. This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in Australia. Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Our 2027 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs, you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. From gaining hands-on experience, to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel. Working under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

We see graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we’re delighted to have placed #23 in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers award for ‘Most Popular Employer’ in 2025 and featured in the Top 10 for 'Most Popular Engineering Employer' Award! No matter what drives you, you’ll discover how you can cultivate, nurture, and achieve your goals – all at a single global company.
