Another story highlighting lifesaving efforts from a Sunstates team member who used CPR at a site in New York. While on duty at a hospital facility, security personnel responded immediately when a vehicle arrived in the parking deck with an unresponsive individual. After assessing the individual and finding no pulse, the team coordinated quickly to retrieve a stretcher and initiate emergency response procedures. While transporting the individual into the Emergency Department, Officer Joshua Degroat performed life-saving chest compressions trying to resuscitate them. Upon arrival, the individual was successfully transferred to the medical staff for continued care and survived the incident. The nursing staff expressed their formal appreciation to the security team for their rapid response and life-saving efforts.

According to the AHA, CPR, especially if performed immediately, can double or triple a cardiac arrest victim’s chance of survival. Our team members prove regularly that quick action makes all the difference. From our Officer of the Year, Jeffrey Davis, performing lifesaving CPR in Denver, to another recent Lifesaving Award recipient, Alexander Schmitt, in Delaware, we shared about last week, over 2,700 of our team members are currently CPR certified, are you?
