During Parks and Recreation Month, we’re thankful for the chance to help communities build places where people can connect, play, and enjoy the outdoors. #ParksAndRecMonth #CommunitySpaces

We’re working alongside the City of Minneapolis in Minnesota to help keep stormwater clean and protect local waterways. SEH’s Emily Jennings, PE and Justin Gese recently led a site visit to one of our joint projects on 1st Avenue South. Big construction projects like this need special stormwater management systems to manage the rainwater runoff and keep pollution out of rivers and lakes. On this project, there wasn’t enough room above ground for all the stormwater treatment needed, the team built a huge underground chamber made of concrete pieces that fit together like a puzzle. It’s about 135 feet long, 13 feet wide, and it can hold and clean nearly 4,700 cubic feet of stormwater each time it rains. This helps remove hundreds of pounds of sediment every year! Thanks to the crews from the City’s Surface Water and Sewer Division for making it happen. We’re proud to help protect the water we all share. #CityofMinneapolis #Stormwater #Engineering #WaterQuality
