This February we recognize American Heart Month, a time when Healthfirst educates members about Cardiovascular and Heart Disease. Today, we’re highlighting a member of the Healthfirst team who helps keep our members healthy. This week, meet Maria Julia Perdomo, a Care Manager at Healthfirst. How does your role at Healthfirst support cardiovascular health of Healthfirst members? In my role as Care Manager, I have a recurring opportunity to talk to my members about cardiovascular health. One of the most impactful actions we can do is educate our members about preventative care, specifically about cardiovascular diseases and the actions that our members can take to mitigate the risk of development, or for early detection and appropriate treatment. We, Care Managers, are the members' source for quick access to information, tools, tips, and we are also equipped with the knowledge to guide them on their questions and goals to continuously improve their health.
