Katie Echavarria has always had a passion for making a positive impact on people's lives. From the beginning of her EMS career, her passion has been driven by compassion for others. An extraordinary encounter with an infant, whose life she saved, forever shaped her enthusiasm for EMS. This compassion led her to a position where she guides and teaches others. As a pilot instructor for Guardian Flight, Katie believes her role is a great calling and privilege to be able to teach future aviators to fly. A pivotal moment in Katie’s aviation career occurred just one week into teaching at Guardian Flight when a student told her she had a gift for teaching and helped him overcome an obstacle. Through her guidance, she has made a lasting impact on the amazing pilots who work alongside her. Katie’s advice to aspiring female aviators who are considering a career in the industry is to have faith and never stop believing. She stands firm on her faith in God and making the heavens her office view is one of the best decisions she has ever made. She is inspired to see more women in the industry and encourages more women to join. Katie exemplifies the leadership and compassion that define our team. We are proud to have her as a valuable member of our GMR family. Thank you, Katie, for your hard work and commitment to the communities we serve. #WOAW #OneTeam

Meet Marjorie Muccie, a true veteran in the world of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), who has been with GMR for more than 25 years. Marjorie's journey into EMS began in a rather unexpected way. As a new Registered Nurse (RN) working in the Emergency Room, she was challenged by an EMS crew to do a ride-along and experience life from their perspective. That one ride-along turned into a lifelong passion. Marjorie loved the excitement and challenges that came with EMS and decided to pursue it wholeheartedly, enrolling in EMT school the very next semester. Throughout her extensive career, Marjorie has held various positions within the GMR family. Starting as a paramedic in Roswell, NM, she later transferred to Arlington, TX, taking on roles as a FTO (field training officer) and associate supervisor. Marjorie has also served as a clinical education specialist in Arlington, TX, and a clinical manager for multiple regions in Texas. Today, she currently serves as the national manager of the controlled substances programs with GMR. Marjorie attributes her success to the skills she acquired early in her career that continue to be her guiding principles today. Maintaining composure in times of stress, displaying empathy and compassion, and communicating effectively are the cornerstones of her success in EMS.
