Our very own Michael Jones, a former intern and co-op at Grede who recently accepted a Grede Grad position with us, has been featured in the following article by the American Foundry Society's Modern Casting publication, "Interns: The Shortest Distance to a Great Employee." 🛣️🎓 Interns are critical in building a pipeline of future technical and leadership talent. At Grede, an internship is a multi-month job interview that allows both the intern and Grede to determine if there is a good long-term fit. Michael is an excellent example of how our early career talent development strategy, Grow with Grede, works. Michael attended Georgia Southern - which is a Foundry Educational Foundation-certified school. FEF students are an excellent resource for Grede internships—they're interested in foundries, and their coursework is relevant to what we do every day. Michael's problem-solving skills and dedication to continuous improvement significantly impacted our processes. His journey with Grede exemplifies how internships can bridge the gap between education and a successful career in the metalcasting industry.
Safety, pride, and job satisfaction ✨💪 Hear Elijah Soltys, Finisher and Grinder from Meadville, Pennsylvania, speak about his experience at Grede. Elijah talks about his favorite part of the job: being part of the Safety Brigade—a group dedicated to making our workplace safer for both experienced workers and new hires. He expresses his pride in making safety-critical parts for big companies like John Deere and Caterpillar and feels a sense of accomplishment knowing his work might be on these trucks and equipment. And finally, he ends by saying that it’s the coolest job he’s ever had. Thank you to Elijah for speaking about your experience. Our team members like Elijah make all the difference and enable our partners to Go Further with Grede.
Grede St. Cloud recently donated over $43,000 to the United Way of Central Minnesota and surpassed their goal of $40,000! 🤝 We’ve been donating to this cause for more than 25 years by organizing raffles, BINGO games, and a company match. There are people who could use a little help right now – some students need learning assistance and mentorship, while some parents are struggling to provide healthy food and a safe environment for their families. Helping them is what the United Way of Central Minnesota does, and change doesn’t happen alone. One of Grede’s core values is corporate citizenship, and we’re proud to help the United Way with its mission so we can make a difference in the communities in which we operate.

Five years ago, Grede became an independent company. 💪 Thank you to Gamut Capital Management for enabling us to be an industry leader in highly engineered iron castings for light vehicles, commercial trucks, and industrial equipment. To celebrate, we asked six team members to share what they're most proud of in the last five years. Hear their answers in this short video. Thank you to all our team members and partners for everything you do for Grede.
Tis the season for giving! 🎁🎄 At their local Salvation Army, Grede New Castle in Indiana participated in adopting families for the holidays. They bought presents for ten children in need and got everything on their wish lists and more. Additionally, Grede Browntown in Wisconsin donated over 500 toys and food items to the Blackhawk Garden Food Pantry and Santa's Elves of Lafayette County. At Grede, we value corporate citizenship because we recognize that giving back to our communities strengthens the bonds between us and fosters a spirit of generosity and compassion. By supporting those in need, we can make an impact and inspire others to do the same. 💙
Grede is committed to providing our customers with high-quality iron castings while keeping our team members safe. ✅ Recently, Grede St. Cloud in Minnesota conducted a successful Layered Process Audit (LPA) training with the help of Net Results Inc. and Grede’s corporate Quality department. We plan to roll out this updated process to all plants starting in Q1 to create a consistent process throughout our facilities and ensure we're meeting our high standards for safety and quality. We funded this initial training through our partnership with St. Cloud State University, with a grant they received from the state of Minnesota. During the initial training in Grede St. Cloud, plant and production leaders participated in the three-day event, which was tied to failure mode and effects analysis, control plans, and standard work instructions to strengthen the LPA audit checklists and processes.
