This International Women in Engineering Day, we spoke to four previous winners of the James Dyson Award about their inventions, goals and advice for future engineering enthusiasts helping to Shape The World. New air cooling technology, a sanitising pen, a marine bioplastic and a tactile food label, these women are tackling global issues head-on. Learn more about their drive to push engineering and design boundaries exclusively on the Dyson Newsroom.
We never normally show our aborted projects, however, it felt right to give a glimpse of the Dyson car to show what the team achieved. Read and see more from James Dyson about the project here
The Breathe London study, which used Dyson’s bespoke air quality backpack to measure the air quality on children’s journey to and from school, has been selected as a finalist for the Experimental category. Read more in our Dyson Newsroom below.
Ventilator Update To see the work underway to develop and manufacture an entirely new design of ventilator for COVID-19 patients, visit the Dyson Newsroom below.
Dyson engineers have been applying their minds to engineer an entirely new ventilator, the CoVent™ which is designed to address the specific clinical needs of Covid-19 patients. The UK Government has placed an order for 10,000 ventilators from Dyson and we’re donating 5,000 units to the international cause – all our effort is focused on manufacturing these as soon as possible. Thanks to our incredible Dyson engineers, and those at TTP plc, who are working around the clock.

Today we announce the launch of our latest haircare technology after 7 years of research and development: the Dyson Corrale hair straightener. Using patented Dyson flexing plates that shape to gather hair, this latest machine causes half the damage, delivering enhanced styling, whilst also being cord-free. Amazing engineering from our teams around the world!
How will you describe our latest technology? Tune in for the global reveal on 10th March 14:15 CET.
