One thing we all run across when looking for jobs is new software to learn. I have noticed jobs wanting SQL and quickbooks at the same time. Have you started training in any new software to get a new job during unemployment? Which seem to be the best ones to try to learn?

I’m an M&A specialist group and I don’t know why but I worry about job security and feel insecure in the value add of my work. I think it stems from my group not having clients directly, and being so reliant on Corporate. As a junior, this is fine, and actually makes my day to day less stressful. But as I climb the ranks, servicing corporate becomes way less appealing. I don’t want to be 42 with kids and have my work sourced from (and schedule dictated by) a 2nd year associate annoying lil fuq

Do you think FDD service is dying as a whole? Due to AI, feels like our work are starting to become more of a commodity with zero value add? Fee cuts, offshoring to get better margins, now companies forcing VS code and other stuff. Feels like there are better bang for your buck in the accounting world or am I wrong?
