Pros

Plenty of great colleagues, perks such as free fruits every day, yoga and fitness classes offered to employees and offices located very centrally in Berlin. Flexible work hours to some extend, a great opportunity to learn about eCommerce and how to use Excel for everything, company parties and a shower for the fitness oriented.

Cons

Management on all levels seem to be following an outdated 1980's management 101 school book. No interest, will or ability to inspire employees or engage them towards what the company is trying to achieve, mostly because there doesn't seem to be any goal besides looking good for investors every now an then.

Pros

You can do almost everything on you computer. So you can install and use the programms you like. Monthly events with free beer. Weekly free fruits and some cake

Cons

bad communication, bad business planning (new or improved features) and very bad leadership in IT. You get almost no information abaout the system but you have to know why and how it works. If you've problem that need to be solved (e.g. between some teams or collegues) the answer is almost everytime "Come on you're grown ups", so no intension to solve it. No way for qualifications only in your freetime on your own money. Even if you how to do something, if it's not the way your boss would do it, it's wrong (no discussion).

Pros

The only advantages that I see are the employees and by employees I don't mean managers I mean the people that have to fight every day to survive in a company where there is absolutely no long term strategy and where your position can disappear after an investor round. It creates solidarity between people.

Cons

No (long term) strategy. They open international markets before having done any market analysis. Therefore, they can open a shop, hire an entire team and 6 month later fire the whole team. Like in any startup you would say? Even worse, the HR department who doesn't support employees in any ways will make you dispappear in 24h: the head of HR will call you for an interview usually early in the morning or late in the evenening, pressure you to sign an agreement (taking advantage of the fact that as a foreigner you don't know your rights), and ask you to leave immediately without chance to say goodbye to your colleagues. Several teamleads are totally unskilled that leads to very high turnover in some departments. Despite complaints and turnover top management and HR let them act badly (no vision, inappropriate behaviors...). Very low salaries A lot of extra hours not paid obviously
