Pros

I met some absolutely wonderful & genuine people working at ICST, but this is literally the only positive take-away. I suppose if you want to try to turn the negatives into positives...I learned A LOT; I learned to trust my intuition more and do more research about a company before accepting a job offer. I learned how NOT to run a business. I learned some individuals are just really really bad at business and mask themselves as "spiritual" and peaceful, and kind hearted, when really they are the opposite.

Cons

This is NOT a real or even slightly professional work environment. Very tense and stressful because it is not managed well. The unusually high-turnover rate is the first MAJOR red flag. Most employees last 1-4 months before getting fired for not being a purple-unicorn of perfection that will "save" this failing company...or, like me, they up and quit because this place is so disorganized and dysfunctional. People who aren't on the off-shore team are treated like absolute dirt. For some reason they are prioritized over local employees to the point where the off-shore team are given gifts and compensation and local employees are neglected, and their jobs aren't fully respected. It's very clear the President doesn't really want to be there. He is much more a boss than a true leader. He wants to manage people (or rather boss them around), but is extremely ineffective and honestly very hard to have respect for. The company has burned so many bridges and has little left in Maine to work with for clients. I'm amazed it's lasted as long as it has! The President is also extremely condescending, demeaning, passive-aggressive, and moody. I was treated like a servant rather than an employee, and asked to do A LOT for very little compensation. Also, hiring and firing seems to be very easy for him to do. It's like he gets off on it...Messed up! There's a lot more to be said here but I think I've painted the picture well enough. Long story short: STAY AWAY. This place is not worth trying to save, nor is it save-able. If the management could change...it could have potential. But the President is too much of a narcissistic egomaniac for that to happen.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. As the president of the company, I recognize turnover is a challenge for associates and the health of the company. Letting an associate go is never easy. We always have an open discussion on goals, expectations and a timeline before an associate is let go. I am aware of my limitations and I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your experience. We are working with our team on improving hiring practices and setting clear expectations. I encourage you to give me a call and further discuss at 207-772-6898. Best wishes.

Pros

I can't think of one pro, except for some of the people I worked with. The problem was the owner did not appreciate or treat them well.

Cons

In 20 years of business the average length of employment is only 4 months, 4 months people. There are only three people working in the South Portland office now, one has been there a month, one less than a year and the last just a year. The CEO misleads new employees and treats them like The Devil Wears Prada but worse. The owner has burned so many bridges in the state that the company's business is in the toilet. No holiday party or bonus for our office but his employees offshore received them. The owner heeds the advice from a woman who does not work in the office and has absolutely no business experience.
