The truth behind the headlines

Pros

New office and some really pleasant people work there. Plenty of jobs available. Some of the brands are successful.

Cons

Having worked at a handful of events companies I will honestly say this is the worst. The CEO is not a pleasant person and that attitude filters down through management. Employees are squeezed and treated with no respect at all. Young staff are brought in way above their depth and costs are trimmed at every opportunity. I would advise all prospective employees to see through the spin machine that is in operation for this company and speak to an employee like me.

Thank you for your review and for taking the time to write- I would like to address your points. Regarding your comments about our CEO, you are entitled to your own opinion however the facts show that 93% of other Glassdoor reviewers support him. Our current employees have also shown their support of i2i and our CEO/leadership team as has been proven in our recent engagement survey the results of which will be communicated very shortly to our business. In the survey there were very specific questions around leadership and whether staff felt respected. Indeed all of the senior leadership of i2i make a big effort to treat our employees with respect and we value them immensely. It appears that i2i was not the best cultural fit for you and I hope you find this in your next role.

Pros

Modern office, youthful spirit: the company has tried to reinvent itself after demerging from Emap

Cons

Massive staff turnover, centralised functions mean no depth of expertise, terrible aggressive management, battery farm sales approach.

Pros

It provided good experience to learn the industry ropes and better understand the skills needed to make it in events. The social life is great, a lot of money is spent on employee entertainment and the open bar office parties. CEO is very motivational, you feel like you're a part of greater plan. Incredible office with great facilities and hot desking.

Cons

I was told in my job interview that I'd be given a fixed term contract, which was apparently a company standard, and would eventually have a permanent offer. Unfortunately i2i has a habit of keeping people on with a fixed term and you never find out whether you'll be renewed until the last second. A lot of staff was constantly applying for jobs elsewhere since there was no job security. This also meant that you weren't entitled to a bonus, again something promised in the beginning, whilst people who had joined earlier on a permanent contract were arbitrarily given a bonus for the same or even less amount of work. There was a lot of favouratism, employees were regularly promoted due to their ability to navigate office politics rather than their work quality.
