Pros

-Learn a ton in a short amount of time -Expand your network at an accelerated pace -Get to work your passion if you love startups, entrepreneurship, and community -Dynamic work environment including remote tools, flexibility, and casual attire/individuality

Cons

-Many people there felt underpaid for the work they did in their roles but were highly qualified or had legitimate credentials that warranted more income in the market -It is a trade-off you get to follow your passion but the caveat is you're overworked and underpaid -There was always an element of continuous uncertainty and disorganization to some degree (comes with the growth) -Hard to find an employee that worked for the company 3+ years beyond upper management (comes with the growth) -Tendencies for some teams/regions/markets to become factions (Culture)

Pros

When I started at gener8tor, the outlook was really bright and it felt like there was a lot of growth to be had. Unfortunately, after a couple of months, I started seeing changes. The only 'Pro' that I can think of is that the leadership team is GREAT at manipulating their employees. I cannot stress this enough, if you are looking to be pushed around, gener8tor is a great place to be.

Cons

Where do I start... Like I said in the 'Pros' section, the leadership team at gener8tor knows how to manipulate their employees to an unhealthy degree. They like to hire young employees so that they can treat them poorly. If you hire young professionals willing to do whatever to be successful, you can manipulate them in many ways. Most of the employees in entry-level or even mid-level positions are really great and have diverse opinions. When you starting going upward, that is where the issue lies. Mental health is NOT a priority and when that is discussed, it is not addressed and pushed aside indefinitely. gener8tor prides themselves on their DEI strategies but as an LGBTQIA+ community member, I was discriminated against frequently. When I discussed these issues with managers, it was pushed away and not addressed. The company is also extremely classist. The leadership team, one Partner specifically, only talks about how they live in the best (and wealthiest) neighborhood in the state. The leadership team has covered up so many disgusting acts that it killed me to even be a part of it. I am so glad that I am out of there.

Pros

Fully remote, friendly team environment, autonomy and trust to complete your work (this has changed in recent months)

Cons

“Unlimited PTO” is extremely hard to enforce due to constant, back to back projects, workloads are unequal amongst those with identical roles, absence of fair and equal pay for similar roles/duties across the product lines, upward mobility is more present in some product lines than others, paid below market value for skills
