Pros

It's a gig? None.

Cons

If I could give this place less than one star I would. I worked at their Stamford HQ for about three years and they were the worst work and career years of my life. The CFO and CEO are arrogant, incompetent idiots who are intolerant of anyone else's opinion but their own. They don't care one bit about their employees or having a good company culture. The rest of the exec team just falls in line and keeps their mouths shut so not to incur their wrath. The company has serious baggage, numerous settlements with the Consumer Finance Protection Board for ripping off consumers and deceptive business practices and the business model for the company is dying and has no future which is reflected in their ever-shrinking financial results. Additionally, the company has such a bad reputation both nationally and locally that finding a job when you leave is a serous challenge, this place is where careers go to die. STAY AWAY from this company, it's a miserable place headed by a CFO and CEO who are not good people. Trust me.

Pros

Sometimes there was free food, but it was tainted with having to silently consume it in front of the managers joylessly.

Cons

Terrible atmosphere, no phones, management does not care for employees

Dying Company with Semi-Annual Layoffs

Pros

The functional level employees are dedicated and hard working despite knowing they could be laid off any day. The benefits package is decent overall; offering insurance, 401k, and plenty of time off. Also, if you do get laid off typically there is a decent severance package.

Cons

People are actually happy to be laid off, because it is better than working here. If you survive you will have double work and in most cases no training in how to do it. Business is dwindling and former partners will not come anywhere near Affinion due to the numerous lawsuits and settlements against Affinion or the partners (Google Affinion Settlements) Mid level managers are complete waste of money, but often are protected by upper management. Many have been at the company for 7+ years and provide no value other than micromanaging and passing off your ideas as their own. Sr. Management has no vision or long term for the company. They have chosen to cut costs and consolidate to save their paychecks instead of innovate their business processes to create a long term plan. If you want a clearer picture read through the SEC filings yourself on the investors section of the Affinion website or do a recent search for Affinion SEC filings.
