Pros

The other consultants are great. Met a lot of good people. Clients are good too. Enjoyed doing work for high end Australian clientelle. Gained some good experience in the consulting industry.

Cons

Low pay for the level and complexity of coding work. Management do not seem to be sufficiently skilled in working with neurodiverse individuals. Established staff members that I had good working relationships with and who contributed to a high quality and disability inclusive workplace had a high turnover from the company. Very high turnover of junior staff. High pressure to gain clients. No overtime pay. When I asked for adjustments to be made by management to suit my working style as part of my autism I was told that my requests were unreasonable even though what I was asking for was written in my consultant profile given to each client I had worked with. Lack of understanding of neurodiversity seemed to be only on the auticon management side in my experience which I found extremely strange for a company with a 100% formally diagnosed autism core workforce.

Pros

- You are matched to a client that fits your skills and interests (as much as possible) - Personal "advisor" that acts as a mediator between you and the client as well as being available for any questions or concerns - Very understanding of the particular challenges that come with autism - Taking time off for health is encouraged and not penalized - Relatively generous spending account for health and wellness ($1,500/year + additional amount for dependants/spouse) - 4% PTO - Possibility of getting paid training outside work hours

Cons

- Salary is not competitive - Would make more sense as a non-profit

Ignore their marketing

Pros

Go for it if you can't find anything else

Cons

Ignore their marketing, you are just cheap labour for them, they don't really care about you. They'll do their best to make you think you couldn't survive anywhere else, but that's just their way of manipulating people to stay. Many others would treat you much better.
