Pros

Exciting arena-based product with lots of entertainment cachet! Most people like and/or respect the TV and experiential product. Some very nice, hard-working and sweet-natured people work there. Some not so nice and not that talented too.

Cons

No relocation packages, no severance packages (regardless of years of service), notorious fine-tooth-comb review of expense reports, no raises or year-over-year automatic increases and a barely functioning HR department (because it's disemboweled by senior management), and therefore no real grievance process.

Lies. Egos. Lack of leadership.

Pros

It’s the “cool” job that your friends and family get to brag about. Getting to know fighters as they go from their first fight to champions is cool to be part of the journey.

Cons

The amount of lies employees are told on a daily basis is absurd. There is zero leadership or guidance. Executives really only pay attention to you if you are sleeping with them and that also earns you a better bonus pay. Egos are off the charts. President makes irrational decisions off the cuff with zero opportunity to have a conversation about a situation. HR is a joke! Sexual harassment is accepted and expected. Forget work/life balance. It’s frowned upon to take time off but they also don’t roll over or pay out vacation. There’s no sense to the pay scale or bonus structure. No career advancement. Very cliquey. Expected to be on and answer your phone and email 24/7, 365 days a year. WME has no idea about the sport, they don’t care about understanding it. They lay people off every November so the whole company is usually on pins and needles. It’s definitely a place where it feels more like a cult and forced to drink the kool-aid than an actual corporate, leadership driven business.

Pros

I got to travel all over the country and was on the road essentially every two weeks. I worked directly with talent and learned invaluable skills for my field.

Cons

Very, very toxic work environment where politics reign supreme. The company is transitioning from a 'family business' mentality to a corporate environment, so tensions are high and company culture is non-existent. Upper level management seems more interested in promoting themselves instead of their subordinates. People with different ideas and opinions are seen as threats and you'll notice a trend where those certain people will disappear from the company. You won't move up unless someone quits. Every department is territorial. Terrible pay for the amount of hours you work - especially on event week. Bonuses are a joke and don't expect to be able to use any of your vacation. You're constantly reminded 'how lucky you are to be working for such a great company' when they've cleared f-d you on pay, hours, job duties.
