Pros

1) The years I was at Zerto, the market space/demand and brand awareness has improved a lot. 2) SKO in another country. 3) They finally rolled out a sales process, MEDPICC and Command of Message.

Cons

1) The technology message is cool - but the company keeps adding new features before current ones are really baked. For example: Vmware works great. But HyperV and AWS I would never sell - it doesn't work! Azure is better but not at scale. They need to fix the current features before they go on this hot-to-trot trail for backup. 2) Management is a joke and they are still struggling with scaling. The new CRO is bringing in the "old boys club" and old-school mentality that plays favorites and bullies people. Lots of unhappy people and churn. 3) Speaking of the churn, it is unreal. There are only a handful of reps that have been there over 18 months - literally! Zerto doesn't value their employee's so if you quit, you quit. Or you're just fired. Moral of it - anyone is replaceable. 4) Zerto should have sold at the end of 2016. Growth has slowed way down and other technologies, such as Rubrik, Veeam or Cohesity, are good enough. Zerto missed their mark. 5) Pay is very low compared to other companies in the industry. 6) I've heard multiple sexual harassment suits with females and their managers. 7) Communication is terrible to the field. There isn't even an all-sales team call!!

Pros

Free Lunch, Amazing Product, Great location

Cons

The company is completely Marketing focused which is a huge issue. We focus more on our Lead gen team than we do on our actual closing roles within the organization. All decisions are made out of Israel and there is a gigantic disconnect in what they think and what is actually going on and needed here in the Boston Office and in the field. Growing pains have been unbearable lately as the rules of engagement have been changed consistently and the most recent change has caused a complete warzone between the sales team. Any employee that has been here more than a year can feel the effects and the negativity of what this company has become.

Thanks for posting. As you mentioned, this year sales went through some transitions, that were finalized in February, in order to focus on high value opportunities and target accounts. We understand how changes, especially for employees who are used to working one way, can be unsettling. We also appreciate that you want us to excel at supporting our customers; there’s so much more we can and should do to support our customers’ success! We hope you will reach out to your manager and help us to identify where we could be doing better.

Pros

- Free Lunch Daily (except Fridays) - Nice People in the Boston office

Cons

- Severely toxic workplace - "Life/work balance" is a spoken concept at Zerto, but seldom followed - Lack of communication between departments and offices (the lack of communication there is absolutely outstanding sometimes in how broken it is) - Complete ignorance by overseas management when it comes to doing business in the US and understanding known US business practices (For a company nearly 10 years old!) - Lack of leadership and ownership of projects (hot potatoes just get passed around) - No Sense of urgency on any tasks when having to do with overseas staff (often, things stay broken for months) - Brutal treatment of employees, with layoffs and/or forced resignations a common theme ("Do it, or leave" attitude) - Unqualified people being promoted/hired to better positions that have no business being in them, except they were "someone's friend" (aka a favoritism hire) - Severely political between two offices (Power & Management struggles between the two offices) - Employees who complain about awful overseas managers are often silenced quickly by broken promises to help or fix situations, if complaints are repeated, they are just shown the door or pushed out. - "Dual HQ" that just does not work - For a company that offers BDR solutions, they have little desire to strive for "business continuity" internally - Zerto has some great employees, but often are never allowed to shine due to poor management style - Off shore management that will drive you crazy by micromanaging you to death - VERY high turnover, which often leads to understaffed departments - Many positions have had high turnover and cannot keep good people in them due to poor management & direction - The good and talented people come and go quickly and do not stay - No real attempt at employee retention - HR is very "hands off" and often can't fix overseas management issues, so they won't get involved. Good luck if you have issues with your overseas manager, you pretty much on your own. HR will not help. - Company moral is very low, and has been very low since a large layoff last year (2018) - New CRO seems nice, but keeps hiring his "buds" from previous companies, which is always a bad sign - Product space is getting flat and stale. Zerto isn't the 'Hot new product' anymore.
