Pros
-Friendly Co-Workers, depending on who you socialize with, the people working here can be fun -Occasional free drink/meal
Cons
-Poor pay, Expect Minimum wage + Casual role if you are a Guest service Attendant or Arcade attendant. -Unfair hours, the upper management will often make excuses why they cannot work the busiest hours (Friday night, Weekends), leaving you to take all of those shifts. -Poor career progression, it takes one year just to get a part time contract (with no guarantee of a pay rise) -Poor recognition. Whoever is closest to the upper management is the one that will get promoted. NOT based on your skills at all. -Public holidays and weekends. If you do not like working on Weekends and/or public holidays, avoid this place. -Poor Staff amenities. There is no staff room + lack of staff parking (and you don't get a parking permit, if you get ticketed well too bad), -Unfair hours, be prepared to work night shift one day and the next day a day shift. If you call in sick, there is a good chance management will take away all your hours the following week. -High Stress. Especially true on weekends/public holidays. Be prepared to work without getting a break. -Very Poor Work culture. I know a fellow manager who took leave but was told to come back early for stocktake. If that was the case, why approve it in the first place? He's also unable to get a single weekend off because the venue manager does not want to cover for him. -Poor training process. They will attempt to train you for 1 day after that you are on your own to figure things out by yourself.
