Pros

Get a really solid training for technical recruiting, but then again I guarantee every technical staffing agency does the same.

Cons

There are a lot of cons with this company. You can kill it doing a good amount of deals at this company and you are still micromanaged like a kid. First off its a different story if you are micromanaged while making a good base salary. To be honest I did a lot of research and I found out that Workbridge pays probably one of the lowest salarys for a technical staffing agency. 33K is what you are offered and that is a joke compared to the other staffing agencies. There are 4 managers at the office, and roughly 20 recruiters. Once you hit past 20 deals you can become a lead recruiter but usually the turn over ratio is so bad I would say 1 in 20 of the recruiters turn into a lead recruiter and by that time one of the manager gets fed up by continuously being micromanaged and next thing you know that lead recruiter thats only been in the that specific job title for less than 3 month is a practice manager. The funny thing is that I left Workbridge before hitting the 20 deals, and I make more now then all the practice managers. What I realized is that Workbridge doesnt care about their employees what they care about is the 6 month you are there that you are able to bring in 2-3 deals which is about 50-70K in revenue which they pay you like 10-15K for your salary for 6 month and then when you quit it doesnt matter or if you get fired, cause at the end of the day they made 50K off of you. Advice to anyone that wants to break into technical recruiting if Workbridge is the only place you are offered, take the offer, train hard, utilize and learn as much then get out in 3-5 months and get paid 45K plus for an actual base salary for a position where you can really talk about and have personal experience with. This is a company that will use humans just as they sell humans. They dont care about feelings they just care about the revenues, which is why I'm fine with how they are turning out right now cause I played the game too. Trust me from a person who utilized Workbridge just as they utilized myself I do not regret anything that has happened because they used me and I used them. Thanks for letting me realize that I could make doubles to triples my base salary within 3 months. Good luck with all the internal problems must be very stressful working for a company thats barely floating.

Pros

-central office location -networking events allow you to meet people in the community

Cons

Where do I begin? -THE BULLPEN : Loud and always blasting music. This makes it semi-difficult to concentrate on your work. It was so loud at times that I couldn't hear the other person on the phone and worried that they could hear my co-workers yelling nonsense in the background. Your manager sits across from you and stares at you all throughout the day. Every few minutes they ask "What're you doing?" "What're you working on?" -THE MANAGERS/MICROMANAGEMENT: Everything is monitored. The managers encourage you to be quick and run to get a drink of water or use the bathroom (after all this is the most important and urgent job in the world, they will tell you). They micromanage their employees in every way imaginable and bark orders at the entry level recruiters. If you make a mistake (which is normal), they loudly tell you why it's wrong or they bring you into a backroom and belittle you. The managers, or really anyone at the company, has NEVER worked for a real organization and doesn't understand how poorly run their company is. The people who become managers are the most cutthroat and produce the most sales which does not translate into being a good manager. -THE CULTURE: This company is so backwards that nothing makes sense. They have to constantly (at least once a day) remind their employees of what a great opportunity this position is. It's not a typical sales job. Once in a lifetime opportunity. The truth of the matter is that the entry level employees do the grunt of the work (as they do in most companies) and Workbridge could care less if they stay or leave. The turnover rate is NOT high because it's a "difficult position that's not for everyone" so don't buy into that. Everyone there is under 30 and thinks they're the best thing that happened to the universe. They pretty much haze you into drinking/partying with them even if you don't want to. I was never in a frat, but I assume that this is what it's like. -THE JOB: You will work 10-12 hour days with an hour "lunch" except they expect you to work through this time as well. Leaving at 5:30 or 6 pm is frowned upon and people look at you weird. But also if you try and stay late, your manager questions you because they are too cheap to pay overtime. You will have to spend at least 8 hours of your day cold calling companies who don't want to talk to you. You will have to be pushy (not direct) and downright unethical at times to get what you need for your manager. Your manager will make you repeat what they say LIVE WHILE ON THE PHONE (and I can only assume that the company on the other line can hear them doing this...). You have no room to do anything in a new method, as everything has "models" and they turn you into a mindless robot. They tell you to have blind faith in your managers. Hmm....In addition to being hung up on 20+ times a day, you will have more work to do once you leave at night. 1.5-3 hours of unpaid "sourcing". Illegal. You're competing against the people that you're supposed to be on a team with.

There are better ways to get into recruiting or sales

Pros

- Training. You'll never be thrown into something without first watching someone more senior do it, then having them watch while you try it for yourself. - If you're really into partying and binge drinking and come from an affluent & privileged background, you'll be among friends.

Cons

- Commission structure. When you first start, you don't earn commission. Managers will tell you this is a favor to you, that you shouldn't have to worry about money coming in while you're learning a new skill set. You'll get a very small, incremental raise for every few placements you make (while your managers make commission off of your work). If you make it to Lead Recruiter, you'll finally start earning commission, but only if everyone on your team is productive and very good at their job. - Toxic culture. Management meetings are a joke - most of them are just excuses to drink during work and gossip about the junior staff. Binge drinking is rampant and is often the only after (sometimes during) work activity. There is little to no diversity among the staff, especially among managers. Managers and Directors frequently make offensive and tone-deaf remarks. Sexual harassment is rampant and often went unaddressed during my time there. Someone who does a lot of deals and makes the company a lot of money can get away with all sorts of offensive, inappropriate, and frankly disgusting behavior.
