Pros

Pay dates are regular and parking is free

Cons

The positive reviews will come from leadership who receive hefty bonuses twice a year. Willscot will layoff yo make the books look better. Employees are disposable and customers are lied to constantly. Hidden charges, fake damage charges , hidden fees found only in a hyperlink on line. You must be up someone's derriere to elevate your position. They post positions AFTER they are filled so that it "appears" they honor their own policies. Hard working and dedicated employees constantly going on stress leaves due to the unmanageable work loads and discomfort with the lack of business ethics. If this company did not have the majority of units their doors would be closed. Sadly, just a bunch of dishonest opportunists running the show both in Canada and the USA.

The Fall of WillScot: Greed in a Box

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Once a trusted name in modular space and portable office solutions, WillScot was quietly gutted from the inside by a band of greedy executives who valued stock prices over people. Driven by short-term gains and personal bonuses, the leadership team—bloated with micromanagers and yes-men—suffocated innovation and crushed morale. They slashed resources, ignored customer needs, and ruled through mindless KPI’s, not vision. Now, customers are fleeing, employees are disillusioned, and the once-promising company stands as a cautionary tale: a brand undone not by competition, but by the hubris and greed of those at the helm. Saddled with over $3 billion in debt, the company is left with an aging, largely unrentable fleet and is now scrambling to survive by pivoting to products adjacent to modular offices.

Cons

Micromanagement is rampant in what feels like a 90s-era call center environment. There are too many mid-level managers who don’t seem to understand what they’re supposed to be doing other than checking call logs. Not enough people who actually understand the business anymore. There are no SOP's for anything. Training is lackluster at best. Management is only interested in self preservation, not supporting their teams in any meaningful way.

Pros

The pay is alright but not enough for what they put you through.

Cons

No overtime, barely any work available since United Rentals is taking all their business. PTO accrual is a joke. They watch and listen to you through the truck camera and the cameras in the yard. They always take away your bonus. The manager is not really your manager and can’t help you with anything. The dispatch is a former uber driver and knows nothing about the job. Other drivers will smile in your face and talk bad about you behind your back. You get written up for ridiculous things. Drivers quit left and right. They expect you to do dangerous work and will blame you if you get hurt.

Pros

Great training and good salary and bonus structure. Team is great to work with! Tons of room for advancement, you can really go anywhere in the company from this role. Great work/life balance.

Cons

Territory can make or break you here, Very strict on KPIs and how you work even if you're a great sales person. You can be the top salesman and it doesn't matter if you aren't hitting your KPI #s.

Pros

the pros are they don't micro manage and the health benefits are great also fixable scheduling

Cons

cons are like any big company, they are always willing to spend Millions on dollars for them and their CEO but none for the actual people who make the money ... they promised us a bonus of we hot our goal and when we did hi that goal and even broke a record they apologized and told us there was no bonus... even though they spend billions on monopolizing the storage game.

Pros

Pretty decent pay. Good benefits. Used to have a good pto program but that's over.

Cons

Our site in Salt Lake is almost entirely outdoor so you're exposed to rain, shine, snow and hail for 60 - 70% of all the work you're doing. Doesn't matter how many units you push, it's never really enough for them. For the holidays there's no bonus. Just a turkey and a handshake. Couldn't get a respirator to save my life, even though that's an OSHA requirement. In fact, they're anti respirator. Mind you, I don't have facial hair. They only care about the well being of their employees to save a buck on paying for injury claims. Don't get injured, they'll make it your fault. Don't trust management to do anything worth while, except b*tch, you can always count on b*tching.

Pros

M-F Decent work hours with Weekends Available

Cons

Management is horrible, plenty of safety talk with zero accountability(no safety meeting for over 3 months), containers and offices are in horrible shape, never ready and always late to deliver, various employees with super unprofessional attitudes and nasty work ethics, yard is always a mess and very unsafe, horrible pay for the amount of work being done, dispatcher does not listen to seasoned employees, yard meetings are being held in Spanish while some employees in the meeting do not speak the language, zero ride a-longs with your drivers to really see what it takes. Excessive rules and restrictions for drivers. GPS tracker does not update the posted speed limit so the driver loses the bonus. Customer are constantly being promised lies and more lies. Most expensive prices in the market and the product does not meet expectations. Horrible communication skills and below average management skills(turn cheek)is better as they act like its the first time they are hearing any news or bad news. Simply put crazy way of getting paid for doing nothing as leaders.
