      Beware of Weiss - Unethical Hiring Practices

      None, very unethical hiring practices. Please be careful if you are interviewing at Weiss. See Con's for my experience.

      Cons

      Weiss Multi-Strategy Advisers is an unethical company that engages in deceptive hiring practices. I was excited to join the company as a business analyst, leaving my previous job at a top 3 bank and turning down other offers to work at Weiss. However, just three weeks into the job, I was suddenly let go without any valid reason provided. This left me feeling completely blindsided. Despite being a high performer and receiving positive feedback from my team, I was given no real reason for why I was let go and no severance pay.

      Pros

      good money in great times but when things turn south you better have the bank built up so that you can survive

      Cons

      It was some of the worst years of my life working there because the days never seemed to end and they wanted you to work like 100 hour weeks.

      Pros

      Great location, decent camaraderie for a multi-strat, and George Weiss himself.

      Cons

      Poor senior management / CIO - sheer number of underperforming PMs kept on was astonishing. No development program or thought given to groom analysts for PM roles. Growing mediocrity and downward slope in AUM not surprising.
