Pros

You are able to work from home and have 'unlimited' PTO

Cons

Everything else - Poor culture, inadequate pay, limited career growth, weak leadership, and a lack of recognition or appreciation. This used to be a great company to work for, but leadership has run it into the ground over the past few years. Since the current generation took full control of the family business, it hasn't been the same. The way staff are treated is unprofessional and unacceptable. Employees are moved between departments and roles whenever it suits leadership, with little to no explanation or consultation, often at the expense of people’s careers and professional growth. There have been instances of yelling and threats of job loss without valid justification - although, frankly, there is never a good reason to treat people that way. Not to mention multiple pregnant women and new fathers have even been let go after returning from parental leave. There is a complete lack of compassion, loyalty, or appreciation for the staff who helped build this company into what it used to be (emphasis on used). Today, the business is barely staying afloat, and its practices are becoming shadier and shadier - just look at the other reviews. If you interview here, they will sell you a dream: “we promote from within,” “there is real growth here,” and the classic “we’re like a family.” but it's a load of crap. Save your time and energy - I doubt this company will still be around in a year.

Pros

Headquartered in San Diego, CA 1/2 of ownership is decent, kind, dependable

Cons

Co-Owners are family, and they partner with other family member businesses. They deploy shady sales tactics and control all sources of information — promote themselves as the official source of truth with credentials anyone can earn after some simple courses — and cherry pick data to scare customers into $10-$20-$50k inspections before passing them off to their family’s remediation business. One they conveniently don’t mention to their customers but coincidentally do not offer as a business. One co-owner is a narcissist/megalomaniac and it’s not hard to notice which one it is; he’s abusive (verbally) and his persona is far from what’s projected on social media. Pro at gaslighting and false equivalence. It’s a classic toxic work culture; overworked, devoid of strategy, and not competitively paid, but you’re at a shared office space with free kombucha 🤦‍♂️
