Pros

Employee Stock Ownership Plan ESOP

Cons

Unstable, vindictive mangement, favoritism, lack of employee recognition and negative work environment. Many employees spend their days complaining and talking badly about one another. Many managers spend their days speaking badly about the employees. No positive support from higher management and fear based support system. Best to just nod your head and get in line with the sheep. Overall, worst work experience to date.

Pros

If you want to make money, you can keep working overtime as long as you can stay on your feet.

Cons

Overtime is mandatory. If you have another job, a family, friends, hobbies, or health care, expect to cut them all loose so you can work nearly every weekend and several late hours at this job. As of this writing (10/5/21), job postings at Walman's web site still list Employee Stock Ownership Program among the benefits. Strictly speaking, Walman still has an ESOP. It has been publicly announced that Essilor Luxottica is purchasing Walman. Everyone at both companies knows that the ESOP will be ended, and it is highly unlikely that anyone hired today will ever be paid anything through that program. Continuing to advertise the ESOP as a benefit is not honest. Management insists on lower breakage at every step, but has no idea how to achieve these goals. Workers, supervisors, and even mid-level managers have been subjected to arbitrary demands, bonus systems, and threats of termination. So far, I haven’t seen anyone try changing the way we make our product. Turnover is increasing. With fewer experienced workers, overtime pressure is likely to continue.
