Pros

Great work atmosphere in the office side. Nice flexible work hours. There are company events that are fun, such as the golf outing and holiday parties.

Cons

Company is run from Germany and Austria, and ALL decisions are made from there. It doesn't matter if your idea is a good one. Only ideas from Germany and Austria will be implemented, even if your idea will save the company money or time. No real potential to excel with your career. Indecision within upper management is common.

Pros

Great training that’s about it

Cons

It’s a very frustrating job. Managements only concern is the bottom line even though it is hurting the long term viability of the company. They have no concern for the employees, customers or the quality of the product they manufacture. I resigned my position only after my personal reputation was being harmed. I was receiving calls from my customers asking me “what’s going on with Wacker”! I was even confronted by corporate officials (one of the largest rental Houses in the country) asking what’s happening to the Company. I reported these Problems to my supervisor who dismissed it. No job is worth that emotional stress they inflict on you and your family (spouse). The company has lost many of the highly qualified management team over the past 6 months. This Is a direct reflection of the Gert (president) running the company into the ground. I’m personally sad that I left my customers in the hands of incompetent people.

Pros

Average benefits and salaries, most non-management co-workers are great people, casual office environment, somewhat flexible hours depending on your position Company sponsored Wellness program with onsite activities.

Cons

Highly stressful environment. Outside consulting firms have informed the company that this is the most stressed out workforce they deal with. The recent initiative by our President to reduce employee stress levels is being treated as a joke by the management. To quote "This is how we do things. Chris will be retiring soon, we aren't going anywhere and we aren't going to change..." Serious lack of training, chronic understaffing. Almost no cooperation between departments, many employees/departments are not held accountable for their work, leaving their co-workers to pick up after them. Policies and procedures are merely suggestions, not followed or enforced. Management is out of touch and definitely show favoritism. Employees who express disagreement with Management face retribution. Good employees who try to change things for the better are pushed out the door. Constant changes, conflicting priorities, excessive workload, lack of direction and focus. Employee development is reserved for a select few, mostly Management and IT personnel. Directives from Munich are based on increasing profits with no consideration for the impact on the quality of the product or employee's work-life balance.
