not a great place

Pros

friendly co-workers, opportunities to learn new things

Cons

A lot of nepotism/favoritism is played by management. A blatant disregard for staff of color and actually increasing diversity in the newsroom. There isn't much room for growth if management doesn't pick you as their favorite. Horrible hours with no incentive from leaderships to avoid burnout. It is not a work culture where you feel like the organization cares about its employees.

Pros

Some of the friendliest, funniest, most welcoming people in the radio news business. Everyone truly loves what they do.

Cons

Management is painfully inept. Company lost dozens of employees, many of them people of color. Poor editorial judgement. Racial and anti-Semitic incidents in the newsroom that went unanswered by management. Everyone is spread so thin because they keep hemorrhaging employees. Used to be a wonderful place with an important role in D.C., now it's just sad. Plus, the pay is atrociously low.
