Pros

There are a few gems here. Although, the numbers are dwindling.

Cons

The opinions in this review come from a high-performing former Wongdoody employee, who after several years left on their own accord. I aim to remove emotion from this review and will not recount specific examples, so as not to legally involve myself or others. It is my opinion that certain occurrences within the walls of Wongdoody would be viewed as ludicrous by those who have an iota of self-respect, myself included. It is my opinion that the office culture was oppressive, with outbursts from senior leaders and late nights and weekend work disguised by an 'excellent work/life balance' that did not exist in practice. It is my opinion that growth opportunities were limited, with tenure being valued more than impact or talent. I believe assignments were repetitive and offered employees little to show for their time of employment. It is my opinion that I was not paid at or near market value, but was labeled as greedy for any indication that I desired fair pay. It was a really, really draining, challenging, painful, traumatizing time of my life.

Pros

Talented individuals to work with unfortunately, they do not stay for long.

Cons

The CEO of our company seems to only care about his exit strategy & maximizing the leadership team profit. The company does not have a bonus scheme in place which is 2 years overdue however, you will find that after company acquisition, certain people got a bonus. New hires that were promised did not receive one either. Refusal or slow response when there is an urgent need for a Software. Any hardware/software you might need to do your job is hard to get by often resulting in thousands of pounds of billable hours being wasted and working longer hours (Slack, Design tools etc). They hate people working from home and placed a policy of only 5 days per year. If you don't trust your employees, then why hire them in the first place? The company used to claim they are a 'People first company' but only offer 5 days sick leave. People are forced to either work from home or come into work because they cannot afford to miss out on pay. So many people have been promised a lot of things however, they failed to deliver. The company has a high turnover, many senior folks have left just before Christmas 2019 and yet to be replaced. Certain Managers are underpaid. Second in command who reports to the CEO is very manipulative and cannot be trusted.

Thank you for sharing your experience at WONGDOODY. The CEO referenced here is no longer with the company and the culture is responding very well to the change in leadership, due to the “talented individuals” you reference.

Pros

Coworkers are keeping each other going. Incredible people who want to make cool stuff Amazing benefits.

Cons

Post-acquisition...it took about 2 years for Infosys to start interfering . We have to meet revenue goals, fair enough. Infosys refuses to pay for work we do on their vapourware products that never leads to real work.
