Pros

i can't think of any now, after three years working here.

Cons

short-sighted, disrespectful to staff, they claimed that they have a tight budget every year but many staff have been suffering for over 3 years with frozen salary and zero promotion - but the district keeps hiring senior management and top management people. And they dismiss people without previous notification, no respect at all. The HR people have no idea about each department's duties and they are the rudest HR people I've ever met.

Pros

This is and will be the biggest arts & cultural organisation in Hong Kong, ever. Very well respected in the industry. If you're super passionate about arts, this is the place for you.

Cons

Welfare rating: Average to low. Very few annual leave. 2-year rolling contract, meaning there's no real "permanent" position. Limited chances for "promotion" - there is no promotion mechanism within the organisation. If you want to climb up the ladder, you have to apply for the position and compete with outsiders.

Pros

Beautiful working environment, great exposure , passionate colleagues, well-respected from outside the organisation, looks good on your CV,

Cons

Inflexible internal policies, horrific HR practices, never enough headcount that matches the ambition of the organisation, very low pay for most junior staff and some middle management, extremely difficult to get promotion and pay rise if your seniors don’t quit, even more difficult to sack incompetent staff, unreasonably high workload for some teams, very few people in the management care about individual staff’s career aspirations and growth opportunities, promotes a culture of conformity and opacity
