Pros

If you like TV, this is a place to start and move along to bigger markets or better jobs. There are few editor jobs around that pay this well.

Cons

STRESS! News department is run by people who have little regard for their employees. Lots of yelling. B-I-G E-G-O-S It is local TV and it is on the way out

Pros

I love the people I work with and the experience I’ve been getting.

Cons

The pay is terrible. I made more working in food service and retail. They don’t have full-time AP positions, so couple the limited hours with the terrible pay and you get a rough life. I’m barely above minimum wage and I don’t even clear $14,000 a year after tax and that’s with minimal days off.

Pros

Low expectations Loose work culture (people drop f-bombs all the time) Pays better than some of the other jobs in the area (Wal-Mart, for example) You're in if they like you and you show up If you like TV, they are hiring.

Cons

Horribly managed. Incompetent people all over the place. Uncaring. Will send you on an all day job in the hot summer sun and not provide even water! Filthy un-maintained building and facilities Company is cheap cheap cheap Pay is low compared to peers at other TV stations
