      Incompetent Technology Leadership

      Pros

      - 401k - Education in organizational politics - The location is good

      Cons

      - Most people here work just for a paycheck. Even leaders at the co-founder level are not really invested in the company. People who were committed to the purpose got pushed out. - Technology leaders/managers at all levels and departments lack the level of competency needed to be at the level they are in. - Meeting centric culture. - The level of social bonding you have with the top level technology leader and intermediate managers and the number of meetings you create in their calendars is one of the most valued aspects. You are not judged by the results and the quality of work. - Many good engineers left. They left because they were working under a bad manager. - You just cannot trust your manager and their managers. No matter how much you give the benefit of doubt. They don't mean what they say and they don't say what they mean. - Unprofessional attitude in many aspects including interviewing.

      Thank you for your comments. We’re sorry you had a bad experience at Victorious. As of October of 2016, we are under new technology leadership. We are actively working to create a high-quality engineering organization - one that is agile, values diversity of opinion, and one in which the best ideas win. While we’re far from perfect, we feel that we’re making excellent progress in reversing several of the issues outlined in your post.

      Mismanaged, self-interested, look into HUGE turnover rate!

      Pros

      - There are many genuinely talented and hard-working people employed here - Free food, meals - Standard benefits - Near the beach

      Cons

      - Very superficial startup culture. - Keep track of everything as they are likely to go back on their word. - No loyalty and talented employees are undervalued. - Pay is absolutely terrible, they will assure you that you are being treated fairly and similarly to others in the same position as the company, not true. - Work/life balance is nonexistent, they cater dinner a few days a week to keep you there longer! Look, the turnover rate reveals all, if you weren't laid off on the current chopping block, you must be wary of the next one. Most of the greats in the company have left for a reason!

      Thanks for the feedback. We try as best as we can to keep track of and follow through on commitments. It's disappointing when it does not happen, but nothing can be done unless it is brought to the attention of the senior leadership while you're at the company. We believe we pay at least market rates for our roles and continue to reward great team members with material increases in salary and equity. We believe that our current team is the strongest that it has ever been - disappointed that you do not feel that way, but we strive to put a team on the field that can win.

      Rare startup opportunity in LA

      Excellent vision, leadership team and potential. I really believe in Victorious' mission and it's rare to find this perfect blend of tech-meets-media opportunity in LA. Many former Googlers (including myself) help to create a fun start-up culture

      Startups must be scrappy and resourceful, and Victorious is no exception
