Pros

Good office location, comms around the company is pretty good

Cons

Odd office environment - people barely know/ communicate with each other unless you're regularly in the office, new people coming in every couple of days, hot desking although was warned you can't sit in the directors favourite spot? Really high turnover

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your time at Veran. I’m sorry that you didn’t have a great experience with us, although I’m glad you enjoyed the office location and communications. Your feedback about the office environment is useful – at the moment it is a real shame we can only have a small number of people in the office while social distancing rules are in place and our rapid growth in recent months is really exciting to us all but does mean that we are all getting to know each other. We always endeavour to provide the best possible experience to all our staff, recognised by our Business Culture Award however, we are always looking to improve, and using our ‘always on & anonymous’ Employee Engagement Survey, we have restarted several initiatives, such as the Management Development Programme, Graduate Coffee Club, famous bi-annual Development Days and parties and our Employee Recognition Programme. Hot desking works well for us because different consultants are in the office each day and people can sit with colleagues they may not work with regularly. Apologies if our running joke about ‘not sitting in the Directors seat’ was taken to heart - they both happily sit anywhere. Finally we are proud of having an employee turnover rate well below the industry average. Of the 30 employees we had 3 years ago, 18 are still with us which shows that many colleagues love it here. Thank you again for sharing your views and we wish you all the best in your next role.

Pros

Lots of autonomy and responsibility, working in a trust-based, outcome-based environment where you learn incredibly quickly surrounded by great people. We're all good friends and support each other on client projects and with the growth of Veran. Very transparent and collaborative culture where driven people can thrive.

Cons

People need to be flexible and adaptable - no two days are the same. Some people struggle with our agile culture and how our priorities and activities can suddenly change. In the Marketing and Sales function we are entrepreneurial and sometimes unstructured so people need to embrace that!

Pros

- Lots of opportunities for exposure to great clients and knowledgeable people - Lovely colleagues who will become friends - Great place to learn and accelerate your career

Cons

- Can be chaotic with a lack of direction - You can often find yourself doing a role that doesn't play to your strengths with little support, which is great for learning but can be really stressful
